Pedal Nylon and Pedal Gut Even though it is a lever harp, the recommended stringing for the McFall is PEDAL Nylon in the 1st and 2nd Octaves, and PEDAL Gut in the 3rd through 5th Octaves. If you prefer, you can substitute Pedal Nylon for the Pedal Gut, or Pedal Gut for the Pedal Nylon. But be sure that you use PEDAL (and not lever) strings.
Two Types of Pedal Gut - We now offer a choice of two kinds of Pedal Gut strings. We have always carried the high-quality Bow Brand “Pedal Gut” strings. We now offer Burgundy Gut strings, which are an economical alternative. Manufactured by Bow Brand, Burgundy strings have slight visual imperfections, such as variations in color, which will not affect performance any way. Priced up to 30% below Bow Brand, these strings are popular with both students and professional harpists.
Lever Bass Wire Strings The 5th and 6th Octave strings used on these harps are called Lever Bass Wire Strings.
